Your tour guide will meet you at the hotel to start the city tour.The first attraction will be the Egyptian museum. his museum (opened in 1901) has the largest collection of artifacts in the world.The visit to this museum is a must, with your Egyptologist,you will find yourself diving in a sea of 165,000 artifacts and antiquities.Your guide will explain and show you the highlights and most important of all.Mainly, the treasures of the young pharaoh Tut Ankh Amun, his golden mask and coffins and the contents of his intact tomb.You will enjoy looking at the fantastic sculptures, sarcophagi,jewelry and papyrus scrolls that date back to different eras. You will have the chance to see the royal mummies of the great pharaohs (optional). you can have free time to browse the museum yourself after the guided part.
After the impressive visit to the museum, you will be taken to The Citadel of Saladin. This fort was built in 1173 to protect the city of Cairo against the Crusaders. The walls and towers of the citadel are still in place.A lot of structures were built inside the citadel but the main attraction is the alabaster mosque or Mohamed Ali mosque. Mohamed Ali (1805-1849) ordered to build this magnificent mosque which is similar to the design of the blue mosque in Istanbul.Accompanied by your guide, you will learn about the basic elements of the mosque and the main principles of the Islamic religion. Both the mosque and the citadel were built on an elevated hill,so you have a great chance to have a wonderful view over the city including the old and the modern parts.
The third sightseeing is Khan El Khalili bazaar.Explore one of the oldest bazaars in the middle east.it is an interesting, lively and busy place where you can try your bargaining skills. You will be invited by our company to have a local drink on one of the oldest coffee shops in Cairo the end of your tour you will be driven back to your hotel.
